Magical Utilities

This modification follows the principles of Random Things and Extra Utilities — it adds unusual and diverse elements that enhance gameplay through unique mechanics. Currently, the mod offers various types of clouds that appear in specific locations in the world. Detailed descriptions for each block and item will help you understand their functions.

Redstone Applications

The Energetic Cloud functions as a 3D pressure plate. You can configure it by right-clicking with copper, iron, or gold ingots to switch between all entities, item entities, and living entities respectively. Any cloud can be activated or deactivated to perform its abilities. Dispensers can now perform these transformations on their own if they contain the appropriate materials. Such features enable deep integration with redstone circuits, allowing for complex networks in a vanilla Minecraft style.

Development Approach

Many mods add random features, but Magical Utilities differs by avoiding the typical "smelt 47 materials, build 10 machines to process them into 7 components, and craft a tool to get a function." Instead of interfaces, preference is given to direct interaction with objects. Various elements spawn in different places, so you need to explore the world to find them. The mod's features are intentionally made unreliable but farmable to maintain game balance.

Available Features

• Clouds: Blocks with various abilities and uses. They spawn in specific locations and can be combined in crafting to create new clouds with different functions.

Planned Additions

• Resource Crystals: These can be grown and drop specific materials depending on their color.
• Chromatic Trees: Add the ability to obtain dyes that can be applied to crystals and clouds. They provide a small amount of experience during processing.
• Mythic Materials: Include unique resources with special properties not found in other mods.

Compatibility

• Tough As Nails: The dense cloud restores the thirst bar similarly to how the cherry cloud restores hunger.
• The Aether: All clouds (even those obtained through mixing) spawn in the Aether.
• JEI: Shows recipes and how to use them.
