Liroth: Revamped

Two years ago, I created my first mod for CurseForge, which became the starting point in my journey of learning Minecraft modifications. This project helped me understand why developers face difficulties when creating special functional blocks, entire dimensions with randomly generated structures, or complex bosses. Although creating unique bosses that don't copy vanilla mechanics remains a challenging task, this mod offers many other interesting possibilities.

I dedicated a lot of time to reworking and improving this mod, striving to create exactly what I originally envisioned while maintaining the spirit of Minecraft. All the lore elements from the original version were significantly reduced since I couldn't find a way to adequately convey the initial Liroth concept within technical limitations. Now the mod focuses on its main goal — dimensions.

These images show only two of the available dimensions — to see the rest, I recommend installing the mod and exploring them yourself! For maximum convenience, I suggest using the Patchouli mod since the guidebook will significantly simplify navigation through the content.

One of the key differences in the updated version is the complete abandonment of MCreator. Although this tool was an excellent starting point for programming beginners, all code is now written from scratch without using any fragments from the original version. Most textures have also been updated and improved.

Getting Started

To obtain the mod guide, you'll need a regular book (made from leather and three paper sheets) and a wilted Liroth rose, which can be found in new structures generated in the overworld:

Book recipe

The book can be crafted in any size crafting table. The guide contains detailed information about all structures, mobs, dimensions, and biomes in the mod, and also explains how to use special blocks and create weapons and armor.

New Mobs

Various creatures await you in the dimensions:

Forsaken Corpse mob

The "Skilvert" mob was renamed to "Forsaken Corpse" to better fit the lore and for easier pronunciation.

Skeletal Freak mob

"Gulift" is now known as "Skeletal Freak" in the updated version.

Fungal Fiend mob

And a completely new mob — "Fungal Fiend". You can study its behavior and features yourself in the game or read about them in the guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Do you plan to further update the mod? Answer: I will update for new Minecraft versions, but likely won't add new content.

Question: Why did you choose Fabric? Answer: Because of more detailed documentation.

Question: Have you heard of Architectury? Answer: Learned about it at the beginning of March and considering rewriting the code for this platform.

Question: Why were two previous dimensions removed? Answer: They were lore-related and served no practical purpose.

Question: What happened to the corrupted items? Answer: The items to create them could no longer be obtained in interesting ways, so I removed them.

Question: Why are some blocks/items still in the mod but unused? Answer: I created new textures for them and kept them for decorative purposes.

Question: Is there REI support? Answer: Due to recipe implementation specifics, adding support proved difficult, but the mod is open source — you can propose your solutions.

Question: Can I use the mod in my modpack? Answer: Yes, of course, just credit the author.
