What is this modification?

Lets Go Herping! is a mod that significantly expands the game world by adding numerous new and fascinating reptiles and amphibians. Some of these creatures might be completely unfamiliar to you! Currently, the mod includes 17 new mobs, with developers planning to add even more.

New Creatures

African Fat-Tailed Gecko

A small lizard that lives on the ground in savannas and deserts. Loves to eat mealworms. Available in three color variants: oreo, striped, and standard.

African Pancake Tortoise

A tiny creature rarely found in savannas. As the name suggests, it looks like a pancake — incredibly cute!

African Spurred Tortoise

A large turtle inhabiting savannas. A big fan of watermelons.

Argentine Tegu

A fairly large reptile that hunts small animals like chickens in the moist rainforests. Currently cannot be tamed or lured, but this feature will be added in future updates.

Amazon Milk Frog

A funny frog found in jungles. Requires spider eyes for breeding, but be careful: breeding on land will kill the tadpoles (they will be able to move to water to lay eggs in the future).

Bearded Dragon

One of the most well-known reptiles in the pet world! Eagerly eats superworms and comes in six different color variants.

Blue-Nosed Chameleon

A very cute reptile from Madagascar. Lives high in treetops and has a small but adorable blue nose, as the name implies.

Emperor Newt

A beautiful salamander found in jungles. Available in two color variants: orange and red.

Fiji-Banded Iguana

An endangered species with bright blue spots and stripes all over its body — truly an unusual creature.

Green Anole

This reptile has likely been seen by everyone: bright green with a pink-red dewlap under its neck.

Jacksons Chameleon

Imagine a hybrid of a triceratops and a chameleon — that's what this animal is! Found in jungles and has three color variants: green, half-and-half, and blue.

Leaf-Tailed Gecko

A contest winner and a very unusual reptile. Spawns in jungles at night and can only breed during that time.

Red-Eyed Crocodile Skink

The developers' personal favorite. Found in jungles and afraid of players.

Spiny-Tailed Gecko

A very... interesting reptile found in wooded badlands. Comes in three different variants — try to find them all!

Tentacled Snake

The first snake in the mod. Found in plains and delivers a poisonous bite — be careful!

Tiger Salamander

An amphibian that can be found in plains.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be a Fabric port? Possibly in the future, but currently we're focused on Forge.

Port to version 1.12.2? No, we don't plan to port our mods to versions 1.15 and below, as it's too time-consuming and we want to focus on future versions.

I have a bug, where can I report it? Preferably on our Discord server, but if you can't, then in the comments.

Is this mod made in MCreator? No, and it never will be.
