Hyper Lighting Colored Light Core

⚠️ Important Compatibility Information
Due to changes in the rendering system of Minecraft versions 1.17 and above, this mod only works up to version 1.16.5. The project will be removed in the future. For newer Minecraft versions, it is recommended to use the alternative solution SHIMMER.
What This Mod Represents
This project serves as the foundation and colored lighting engine used by the Hyper Lighting mod and other additions for Minecraft 1.14.4 and above. By itself, this mod doesn't add any features, but when used together with Hyper Lighting or other mods/resource packs, it enables blocks, items, and entities to emit colored light.
Ready-Made Lighting Sets
To obtain standard sets of light sources, visit the presets section in the project's GitHub repository.
Installation Process
Installation follows the standard procedure for Forge mods: download the mod file and place it in the Mods folder. After launching the game, the mod should appear in the list of installed additions.
IMPORTANT: THIS MOD WORKS ONLY ON THE CLIENT! DO NOT INSTALL IT ON YOUR SERVER!
Parameter Configuration
Mod configuration is available in two ways:
- Through the in-game settings menu, which opens by pressing the INSERT key (or another assigned key)
- By editing the hypcore-client.toml file in the Configs folder of the Minecraft directory
Compatibility with Optifine
NO! NO! AND AGAIN NO! This mod uses shaders and is therefore completely incompatible with Optifine. Compatibility will never be added.
BUG REPORTS RELATED TO THE USE OF OPTIFINE WILL BE IGNORED!
Troubleshooting
If you suspect the mod is causing issues in the game, perform the following steps for diagnosis:
- Disable colored lighting through in-game settings or the configuration file
- Check if the problem persists. If not, re-enable colored lighting and check again
- If the issue only appears with lighting enabled, try running the game without the mod for final verification
If you find an error, create a report through the Issues tab, providing as much detailed information as possible for quick problem resolution.
Additional Important Information
The mod is compatible with most graphics cards. If your graphics card can run Minecraft without significant lag, it will handle this mod as well, with some special cases excepted.
I repeat: the mod is NOT compatible with Optifine.
This is a CLIENT-SIDE ONLY mod.
IMPORTANT: THIS IS A CORE MOD! IF YOU DON'T TRUST OR DON'T LIKE CORE MODS, DON'T INSTALL IT! THE CHOICE IS YOURS!
