Hydrological (Overworld Terrain & Biomes) - Full Description
Hydrological is a world generation modification that completely transforms the standard Minecraft world, offering new implementations of vanilla biomes and unique landscapes.
Currently, the mod is in beta testing, so some issues may occur, including the absence of certain original biomes and non-functional custom world presets.
Main Features
The modification includes reworked versions of standard biomes and completely new terrain types created from scratch, including continents (not recommended to use with other continent mods).
The ore generation system has been completely changed: dripstone caves contain copper and gold veins along walls, lush caves have iron and coal deposits, redstone forms spikes above lava aquifers, while diamonds and magma generate as shafts above bedrock in regular caves. Deep dark caves contain lapis lazuli and packed ice.
Dozens of new tree types have been added, generated in a way that prevents them from intersecting with each other (except in dark forests), making deforestation easier. All trees can be grown from saplings - check item tooltips in-game for growing information.
New world presets are available, such as Floating Islands and Floating Caves (only for Neoforge / version 1.21+). Fireflies appear around tall grass at night, and various vanilla-style blocks have been added: leaf piles, mushroom block slabs, wooden walls, dry grass, and others (these elements can be disabled).
Some blocks now emit light, including blue ice. A customizable fog system dependent on environmental temperature has also been implemented.

Configuration
The mod is primarily data-driven (most parameters can be changed using datapacks), but client and common configurations are also available.
Common Settings:
Server-only mode: Disabled by default. When activated, prevents the addition of blocks from this mod, allowing the mod to be used only on the server, while clients without the mod can connect to such a server.
Cubical terrain scale: Default value is 1. Increasing the value makes terrain generation more cubic. For example, a value of 2 rounds all terrain to 2x2x2 cubes.
Remove collision from snow layers: Enabled by default. Snow layers lose collision and behave similarly to powdered snow, which is particularly interesting with the thick snow layers from this mod.
Noise scale: Multiplies the scale of all terrain generation noises. Higher values create more compact terrain, lower values create more spacious terrain. For example, changing from 1 to 2 makes mountains closer together, beaches narrower, and cliffs steeper.
Add light emission to vanilla blocks: Enabled by default. Disable if you don't want the mod to add light emission to blocks such as tall grass (for fireflies), magma blocks, blue ice, and others.
Client Settings:
Custom overworld fog: Enabled by default. Adds more fog to the world, with the fog color depending on environmental temperature.
Fireflies: Enabled by default. Creates firefly particles around tall grass at night.
