Hold Your Breath

This Fabric mod for Minecraft introduces an unusual game mechanic: to survive underwater, you'll have to actually hold your breath in real life!

How Breath Holding Works

When entering water, press and hold the R key (configurable). This indicates that you've started holding your breath. While the key is pressed, your oxygen level won't decrease. Once you release R, your air supply starts rapidly depleting (depletion speed is configurable).

Important: if you've already released air underwater, pressing R again won't stop oxygen loss. This can be compared to exhaling underwater making it impossible to hold your breath again.

In settings, there's an option to change the R key mode from holding to toggle. This parameter is set individually by each player, but be careful: using toggle mode can make it easier to bypass the mechanic. Please coordinate this setting with the server administrator.

Additional Settings

The mod allows prohibiting the placement of doors underwater to create air pockets. This option is disabled by default.
