Help Me Hardcore
Help Me Hardcore mod is now available on Modrinth in three separate parts: hmh handles world generation, hmh2 adds functionality, and hmh3 represents bonus content.
Hmh.jar - World Generation
When launching a new server, proper generation of all elements is of primary importance. This is because once a chunk is loaded, it's impossible to add new objects to it without a complete reset.
Main features:
- 6 types of trees, including banana and mango trees
- 16 new creatures - from cute penguins in the overworld to terrifying demons in the Nether
- Includes some mobs that didn't pass community voting, such as The Great Hunger and Blazing Inferno
- Over 50 types of ores: from amber and rubies to sapphires and zircon
It's important to note that hmh is responsible exclusively for world generation. Core functionality will be added in hmh2, as development of such a large-scale mod requires time. To maintain player interest while waiting for updates, the Blaze and Craft advancement pack is included.
Hmh2.jar - Functionality
Hmh.jar contains hidden code that activates only when hmh2.jar is present, adding full functionality to previously generated content. For example, Shadow Creatures from hmh.jar should apply a health shrinkage status effect, but without registered effects from hmh2.jar they only deal normal damage.
Additional features:
- New crafting recipes, armor, weapons, and tools
- Gemstones from ores are now used to create magic dust, potions, blocks, fluids, and unique items
- Profession system: players can become Necromancers, Sorcerers, Blood Witches, and other specialists
- Over 20 status effects - from the ability to climb walls like a spider to dangerous effects like Kindling (accelerated burning) or Ash Lung (poisoning in basalt deltas)
The key feature is the Revival Stone, which allows resurrecting spectating players. However, each death permanently removes 1 heart. After 10 deaths, the game becomes traditional hardcore without the possibility of return.
Hmh3.jar - Bonus Content
Hmh.jar and hmh2.jar form the foundation for creating a unique server, while hmh3 adds various additional content: from decorative elements to fun community ideas. The developer is ready to add almost any suggestions to make the game more interesting for all types of players.
