Growing Crystals
The Growing Crystals modification significantly accelerates crystal growth in Minecraft compared to the default speed provided in the vanilla version of the game.
Although standard Minecraft only features amethyst geodes, this mod is also compatible with geodes from other modifications.
To speed up the growth of amethyst and other crystals from mods, you need to create a special crystal catalyst and place it near budding blocks. The catalyst's effect area is a 23-block square, so placing it in the center of a geode is sufficient to accelerate the growth speed of all budding blocks within it.
Crafting the crystal catalyst requires a crystal core, which can only be obtained through trading with a journeyman-level cleric villager (gold badge). For 2 amethyst clusters and 4 emeralds, you receive 1 crystal core.
The crystal growth probability can be configured in the settings file for each type of budding block. By default, there's a 1/30 chance that a successful crystal growth stage will occur on one of the block's faces every second. This means, on average, each budding block produces one crystal every 30 seconds.
The mod supports interaction with the following modifications (all dependencies are optional):
- GeOre
- Geode+
- Geode O' Plenty
- Infernal Geode
- Geodeopolis
- More Geodes Reforged
