Fusion (Connected Textures)
Fusion is a universal library for Minecraft compatible with both Forge and Fabric that significantly expands the capabilities of resource packs. This tool provides access to advanced visualization features, including connected textures and custom entity models that can be used in standard resource packs as well as other mods.
🎨 Capabilities for Resource Packs
The library offers resource pack developers a rich set of tools for creating unique visual content. Here are some of the available official resource packs:
- Fusion Block Transitions - smooth transitions between blocks
- Fusion Connected Blocks - connected textures for various blocks
- Fusion Connected Glass - special textures for glass surfaces
- Fusion Emissive Ores - glowing ores with emission effects
- Fusion Stacking Items - improved display of stackable items
- Fusion 3D Items - three-dimensional item models
🔗 Connected Textures
One of the key features of Fusion is connected textures - special textures with unique structures that automatically connect to adjacent blocks. The system supports 7 different texture layout schemes for various situations.

📜 Scrolling Textures
The scrolling textures technology allows creating animated surfaces that smoothly move in any direction - even diagonally. Perfect for conveyor belts and other moving mechanisms.

🧱 Continuous Textures
The continuous textures feature allows creating large images that are evenly distributed across multiple blocks, creating a cohesive surface effect.

🎯 Block Overlays
Using the capabilities of connected models and textures, you can create overlay effects on standard blocks, adding detail and visual complexity.

👥 Custom Entity Models
The system allows resource packs to modify entity models and textures based on various conditions: altitude, biome, dimension, age, and other parameters. This opens up possibilities for creating unique mob variations.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Fusion in my modpack? Yes, you can freely include Fusion in your modpacks.
Do I need to install Fusion on the server? No, the library is only required on the client and performs no functions when installed on the server.
Why doesn't Fusion work with Sodium? If you're using Sodium version older than 0.6, you'll need to additionally install the Indium mod. Sodium replaces the standard rendering system with its own that ignores the Fabric Rendering API, and Indium adds support for this API.
