A Tasty but Dangerous Encounter!
Do you love pizza? Are you crazy about popcorn? Can't imagine life without ice cream? Well, these foods might not be as friendly as they first appear!
food bosses returns in a completely new form! This modification has been completely reworked and improved. Familiar foods are back with radical changes, and brand new delicious but deadly opponents have also appeared.
What is food bosses?
The mod adds living food items to the game that attack the player, giving new meaning to the concept of "food fight". Unhealthy foods are hostile and will attack not only the player but also villagers, pillagers, and other humanoid creatures (this setting can be changed in configuration).
Healthy foods, on the contrary, are peaceful. They naturally fight unhealthy foods and don't attack the player - excellent allies to grow!

Pizza
It all started with pizza. As in the original, you need to create pizza, but the process has changed dramatically. Instead of standard crafting or smelting, you now have to find ingredients in different places, including trading with villagers!
Pizza attacks:
Topping toss - When taking damage, pizza has a chance to create a random topping. If left unattended, it will constantly throw toppings at you! Be careful - these creatures multiply at incredible speed!
Pizza slices - In the original, pizza broke into 8 slices after death. Now slices fall off during the fight! Each slice constantly creates the corresponding topping.
Pepperoni - Simple topping that runs to the player and deals 1.5 hearts of damage per hit. Easy to destroy!
Sausage - Dangerous topping. When thrown, 5 sausages are created at once! All of them are very fast, but deal only 0.5 hearts of damage per hit.
Mushrooms - Appear in groups of 5. 4 of them are fake, and the real one explodes like a creeper after death, but now waits 2 seconds before exploding, giving time to escape!
Bacon - The craziest topping! When attacking, it sticks to the player, throwing them in all directions and making them an easy target for other toppings.
Pineapple chunk - The most annoying topping. Runs faster than all others, has more health, and when attacking throws the player far back!
Olives - Perform a support role. When hitting, they wrap around the player and immobilize for 5 seconds. Great combination with bacon!
Pepper - Even after being weakened, don't stand near this topping! Now pepper has a delay before exploding, preventing instant death when approaching.
Melty cheese - Although not exactly a topping, it can be deadly! Pizza has a chance to throw 3 balls of melted cheese that turn into puddles. Standing in such a puddle instantly sets the player on fire!
Reward:
Defeated the pizza? Congratulations! Now you can command your own army of toppings! When killing a pizza slice, it drops as an item. Right-clicking allows you to throw a topping, which becomes your ally and helps destroy enemies! The ability has a cooldown.
Popcorn Bag
This product has undergone the most significant changes compared to the original. The recipe remains the same: find 81 popcorn kernels and create the bag.
The popcorn bag has become a time-limited boss. When summoned, it immediately starts heating up and popping! Don't let the bag get too big, otherwise it will explode, leaving behind a huge amount of popcorn to clean up!
Popcorn attacks:
Leap - The bag stops for a second, then suddenly jumps at the player! A hit deals 2.5 hearts of damage. Sound warns of the attack, so you have time to jump away!
Fire stomp - Don't see the popcorn bag? Look at the sky! The bag jumps high into the air and lands with a shockwave! Everyone remaining on the ground nearby not only flies into the air but also gets set on fire!
Kernel swarm - Each hit on the bag has a chance to rip it open, and 3 kernels fall out. While you're distracted by the kernels, the bag gets more time to create new popcorn!
Explode - As mentioned, you have limited time for the fight. If you don't kill the bag in time, too many kernels will have popped inside, and it will violently explode!!! If you survive, congratulations - now you have over 100 popcorns! And all of them will be happy to greet their enemy...
Warning: The popcorn bag explosion sound is very loud (don't increase the volume). It can be disabled in settings.
Reward:
If you defeat the popcorn bag in time, you get... a popcorn bazooka?! Yes! If holding kernels in your off-hand and right-clicking with the bazooka, you fire a kernel missile that explodes on impact. Be careful: with each explosion, a popcorn appears. Although it attacks the nearest mob, after defeating the mob it starts chasing you! Don't create more popcorn than you can control...
Ice Cream Bowl
I scream, you scream... we all scream BECAUSE of ice cream!!! The ice cream bowl appears in ice cream shops as in the original, but with a twist:
Ice Cream Shops
Since Lunchland hasn't returned in food bosses: reheated, ice cream shops now appear in plains and savanna biomes. Each ice cream shop has a villager living inside - an ice cream employee who offers very filling ice cream for just a few emeralds! Yummy!
But don't run to this villager with pockets full of coins! When finding an ice cream shop, there's a 50% chance that the villager inside is actually the ice cream bowl disguised as a villager, waiting for you to get closer! Better keep your money to yourself!
Ice cream attacks:
Spoon swipe - When approaching the ice cream bowl, it attacks with its spoon! This is the most basic and common attack.
Scoops - Be careful when attacking the ice cream bowl! Every 0.5 hearts of damage has a chance to cause an ice cream scoop to fall out, which won't hesitate to defend its owner! As in the original, scoops melt after death, slowing everyone in the puddle from melting.
Sallop - Don't make the ice cream bowl angry, or it might call its entire ice cream menu against you! Every 14 seconds, the bowl "sallops"; after this, one of 5 ice creams appears:
Ice cream cone - The only returning product that remained mechanically unchanged. As in the original, the scoops weigh down the cone but are also sources of its strength; knocking off the scoops weakens the cone but speeds it up!
Ice cream sandwich - The heaviest ice cream. When approaching, it slowly winds up, then suddenly slams down on you! This can disable your shield when blocking and throws you into the air!
Whipped cream - More of a distraction. It gets in your face and stays close; when attacked, it suddenly sprays whipped cream foam everywhere before exploding into even more foam! Like ice cream scoops, the foam slows all non-unhealthy food mobs. Better just ignore this ice cream...
Ice cream golem - Whipped cream's sidekick. When summoned, it immediately bombards you with a blizzard of ice cream balls that slow you down! Kill the ice cream golem to regain your speed!
Chocolate syrup - Ah, chocolate syrup! When summoned, it suddenly teleports to a random location. After teleporting, it erupts with chocolate syrup directly at the ice cream bowl! When hit by the syrup, the bowl becomes immune to all damage and slowly heals! Kill the chocolate syrup to make the bowl vulnerable again!
Shatter - Killed the ice cream bowl? Good; now you need to survive against all summoned minions plus 9 extra scoops! When dying, the bowl shatters, leaving 9 additional scoops for the final attack.
Reward:
After the ice cream bowl shatters, it leaves behind an item called "sprinkles"! Sprinkles are best used with other items; when thrown, they create a storm cloud that rains down more sprinkles, damaging everything they hit! Even better: when directly hitting a mob, sprinkles freeze it in place, dealing additional hits!

The game crashed! What happened? Thanks for reporting the crash! I need more information to help; most importantly - see the crash report to understand where the mod is failing. Create a new issue in the issues tab, then upload the crash report to a site like Pastebin and attach the link in the issue!
Will food bosses be ported to (version/modloader)? Yes, ports to new versions like 1.18 are coming soon! Unfortunately, despite wanting to support old versions and Fabric, code changes significantly between versions, which could double the release time of new content when backporting, for example to 1.12, and I never learned Fabric. If you want to make these ports yourself, first contact me for permission.
Can I add this mod to a modpack? Yes, of course! No need to ask for permission, go ahead!
Can I make reviews/mob battles/other content about this mod? Yes, that's fine. Just credit the mod author by leaving a link to this page.
When will the new update come out? Honestly, it's too unpredictable. Believe me, I would tell the community if I knew when the new update would come out, but I never know if I'll get stuck fixing a bug. I'm not a professional studio with a schedule, just a random guy on the internet who learned to code mods.
Future Plans
Foodpocalypse - Food bosses takes place in the middle of an apocalypse. After the events of a failed restaurant business, foods are taking over the overworld; the world needs your help! I plan to add a points system that enhances foodpocalypse: if an unhealthy food kills a mob, foodpocalypse gets one point, while killing unhealthy foods reduces points! If foods get enough points, foodpocalypse will level up and become even stronger and more dangerous! And warning: there will be severe consequences for ignoring unhealthy foods...
Food fights! - New invasion events called by unhealthy foods, when they try to destroy you by swarming your base! Perhaps difficulty will scale with the current foodpocalypse level?
And of course, many new foods are planned! This includes healthy foods, unhealthy foods, and toys! I also plan to add healthy food plants that can be grown by the player; grow your own army of healthy foods and fight foodpocalypse with them!!!
