Fated Inventory
Altar of Fate
The Fated Inventory mod revolves around a central block - the Altar of Fate, which can be discovered in villages or crafted. When you interact with the Altar of Fate, the items and experience currently in your inventory become sealed to your fate. If you later die, any items that were sealed and remained in your inventory at the time of death will not drop. Instead, they remain tied to your fate and can be reclaimed by interacting with any Altar of Fate in the world. To clear your stored fate for any reason, simply use shears on the Altar.
Charging System
By default, using the Altar of Fate requires no additional resources, but you can enable a charging system similar to the respawn anchor through configuration options. Using glowstone on the Altar (when charging is enabled) increases its charge by one, up to a maximum of 4. With this system active, charges are consumed both when initially sealing your inventory and when retrieving items after death.
Container Items
Items that store other items (such as Shulker Boxes, Bundles, and Backpacks) cannot be fully preserved through the fate mechanic. They only remain sealed if their internal contents remain unchanged between when they were sealed and when death occurred. If any item appears missing from the Altar interface, check your death location - it might have dropped there instead.
Compatibility
The mod integrates smoothly with popular inventory expansion mods including Trinkets, Curios, and Accessories - items placed in additional slots are properly saved and retrieved through the Altar of Fate. However, Fated Inventory may conflict with certain grave mods or modifications that alter vanilla death mechanics.
Admin Commands
Server operators can manage the fate mechanic using the /fatedinventory command:
seal- saves the player's current inventory contents;unseal- clears fate-stored items;retrieve- returns items after player death;list- displays saved items;clear- removes all stored items;sealed- shows currently fate-bound items.
Configuration
The mod offers extensive customization through the fated_inventory.json configuration file and item tags, allowing precise control over inventory saving conditions, altar mechanics, and integration with other modifications.
