FastChest Reforged
If you've encountered a large number of chests in one area, you've likely noticed how significantly this impacts Minecraft's performance. The more chests placed nearby, the more noticeably the frame rate drops.
This modification solves this problem by eliminating the use of dynamic chest models and replacing them with static geometry that renders alongside regular blocks in chunks. However, this means that the chest lid opening animation will no longer function!
The effectiveness of the performance improvement may vary depending on the number of chests in the surroundings. In large storage areas, this mod can double the FPS value. At the same time, it focuses exclusively on chests - other objects may also affect performance.
FastChest Reforged works correctly alongside Rubidium and OptiFine and is compatible with most other mods and texture packs that don't affect chests. For example, the "Proper Break Particles" resource pack from Vanilla Tweaks modifies chest blockstate definitions, which automatically leads to incompatibility. To resolve the issue, you need to delete the chest.json, ender_chest.json, and trapped_chest.json files from the /assets/minecraft/blockstates directory of the required resource pack.
This version of the mod is adapted for the Forge platform and is based on the original FastChest development by fake_domi created for Fabric, with the author's official permission.
