Extended Drawers

Extended Drawers mod offers an innovative storage system for Minecraft, inspired by popular item organization solutions. It enables creating efficient and balanced storage systems using simple components.

Main Features

In-game Guide Book

Create a usage guide by combining a book with an upgrade frame. Patchouli mod is required for the book to function properly in-game.

Various Drawer Types

Drawers are blocks capable of storing large quantities of limited item sets. Three variants available: single, double, and quadruple slots. Can be interacted with directly or through hoppers and pipes from other mods.

Access Points

These blocks allow interaction with multiple connected drawers simultaneously. They only support direct item insertion, but resources can be extracted through automation. Ideal for quick inventory sorting or integration with digital storage systems.

Shadow Drawers

Display total resource quantities across the entire storage network and allow adding or expanding supplies. Particularly useful for automation as they provide access to centralized storage from any location.

Compacting Drawers

More expensive to craft but offering unique capabilities. Automatically compress and decompress items using 2x2 and 3x3 crafting recipes. Capacity is calculated based on the most compressed version of stored items.

Upgrades and Limitations

Upgrades increase capacity of individual drawer slots (power adjustable in configuration). Limiters are also available for controlling maximum capacity. Unlike other mods, upgrades apply to specific slots rather than the entire drawer.

Locking and Special Modes

• Locking: Prevents selected item reset when drawer empties
• Voiding Mode: Activated by sneaking with lava bucket, destroys excess items
• Hidden Mode: Removes icons to reduce load or hide valuables
• Duplication Mode: Experimental feature for version 1.20

Configuration and Customization

Configuration Files

Settings located in config/extended_drawers folder with separation between client and shared parameters.

Datapacks and Recipes

All recipes and loot tables can be modified through datapacks. For compacting drawers, customization of compressible items is available via JSON files in data/<namespace>/extended_drawers/compression_overrides directory.

Compatibility

Mod designed for versions 1.20.1 and 1.20.2. Compatibility with Sodium only ensured when Indium is installed. Optifine not officially supported.

Licensing

Versions 1.3.0 and older distributed under MIT license, newer versions under Apache License 2.0. Code can be freely used with license compliance and attribution.
