Ender IO Zoo

This is the version of Ender Zoo for Minecraft 1.12. The project has been renamed to Ender IO Zoo and is now an addon for Ender IO. The old standalone version (1.4.0.49) is still available but will no longer be updated.

For versions of Minecraft from 1.19 onwards, a new version is available.

Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod that includes armor, tools, weapons, machines, conduits, inventory management, mobs, and much more.

The Zoo module contains all the mobs (details below). This addon is compatible with both modular and monolithic installations of Ender IO. When using the modular installation, only the base module is required (this means you don't need machines and conduits if you only want the mobs).

Other modules:

  • Base
  • Machines
  • Conduits
  • Inventory Panel

Integration modules:

  • Applied Energistics 2 (ME conduits)
  • Open Computers (OC conduits)
  • Refined Storage (RS conduits)
  • Forestry
  • Tinkers Construct

Addons:

  • Endergy

Mobs of Ender IO Zoo

Enderminy

Enderminies spawn in small groups in forested or swampy areas. These are friendly little creatures that particularly dislike creepers. Despite their small size, they pack a serious punch if provoked. They defend their nearby brethren and have a chance to teleport away when hit. Upon death, they drop Ender Pearls and/or Ender Fragments. Ender fragments can be combined to create an Ender Pearl or used in charge creation.

Fallen Knight

Fallen Knights have returned to refight long-lost battles. They can be found armed with swords or bows, though they're known to prefer swords in close combat. Typically found on open plains at the sites of past battles, they often ride their undead steeds.

Fallen Knights

Fallen Steed

These fearsome mounts are only encountered when ridden by Fallen Knights. A knight on horseback is an enemy to be feared as they charge at high speed toward their foes. A mounted archer presents a different challenge, retreating whenever possible to stay out of melee range while raining arrows on their target.

Concussion Creeper

The Concussion Creeper doesn't leave holes or kill enemies, but beware of the headache. They can drop gunpowder, confusing powder, or Ender fragments.

Wither Witch

The Wither Witch has discovered the secrets of the Wither, gaining the knowledge needed to brew the most evil potions. While their methods are unknown, slaying one of these evil creatures may give the victor the means to create the potions for themselves.

Wither Witch's Cat

Companions of Wither Witches, these cute little guys tend to get a bit angry and aggressive if you pick a fight with their owner.

Wither Cat

Dire Wolf

Dire Wolves are found in small packs in snow-covered forests. They typically ignore visitors to their realm, but don't get too close to these powerful beasts.

Dire Wolf

Owl

Owls are found in warmer forests and along rivers. They particularly enjoy eating spiders and watching the world from high vantage points. Their eggs can be used to brew Potions of Rising.

Ender Infected Zombies

The Endermen have left The End and are infecting more and more parts of Minecraft. Not only can they now be found in The Nether, but they've also managed to infect a small number of zombies. Be aware of the strange teleportation powers of these zombies.

Infinity Spawn

Harvesting Grains of Infinity appears to have awakened the forces of nature. Strange blobs of darkness are rising from the bedrock below.

Enchantments and Potions

Ender Zoo adds the Withering (applied to bows) and Decay (applied to swords) enchantments. When a target is hit with these weapons, they receive the withering effect for five seconds.

With Ender Zoo installed, you can also create:

  • Potions of Decay using Withering Powder dropped by Wither Witches
  • Potions of Nausea can be made using Confusing Powder, dropped by Concussion Creepers
  • Potions of Rising using owl eggs

Blocks and Items

Ender Zoo adds three new varieties of "TNT": Confusing Charge, Ender Charge, and Concussion Charge. When detonated, the Confusing Charge causes all players in its blast radius to suffer from the 'confusion' effect. The closer the player is to the blast, the longer the confusion lasts. This has no effect on mobs. The Ender Charge randomly teleports players and mobs to a nearby location. The Concussion Charge combines these two effects.

Charges

Complete Spawn Control

Ender Zoo adds an XML file that can be used to customize the spawning of any mob, vanilla or modded. Change the spawn rate, the biomes where mobs are found, or remove them completely. See SpawnConfig_Core.xml in the config/enderio folder for details.
