EAS Addon for ProtoManly's Weather Mod
This mod is an additional extension for ProtoManly's weather mod and will not function without it.
This addon implements an EAS (Emergency Alert System) into the game, which transmits alarm signals to the player when dangerous weather phenomena approach, creating a more realistic and immersive atmosphere.
How to Use
To get started, you'll need to obtain an EAS block and EAS transmitter. Place the EAS block next to a weather station (must be adjacent), then use right-click with the EAS transmitter on the block to bind them (you may need to hold Shift).
After successful binding, any supercell, squall, or tornado entering the EAS block's area of effect (radius is not configurable at this time) will activate corresponding warnings for all players possessing EAS transmitters.
Usage with Radar Warning Polygons
Place a radar block next to your EAS block, which should be positioned adjacent. The EAS block must remain next to the weather station. When warnings are automatically triggered, the system will also display a polygon on the map until the storm weakens below dangerous levels or leaves the radar's coverage area.
Tornado Strength Assessment
Select a tornado using the damage surveyor device and click 'Survey Damage'. Your task is to use right-click with the device on specific chunks to survey territory affected by the tornado. After completing the survey, enter the command /survey finish. If you want to interrupt the process early, use /survey quit.
Planned Updates
- Implementation of a watch system with severe weather probability forecasts
- Addition of an 'NWS' block or related blocks, allowing creation of full-fledged weather stations for accurate warning issuance and risk outlooks
Known Issues
FOR PROTOMANLY WEATHER VERSIONS 0.13.10 AND BELOW: Currently does not work in online multiplayer!
