Domestication Innovation
The Domestication Innovation mod fundamentally transforms the pet taming system in Minecraft. It turns ordinary pets into full-fledged companions with expanded functionality, making the taming process an engaging gameplay mechanic.
Main Features
Enhanced Pet Management
Wolves, cats, parrots, axolotls, rabbits, and foxes now have three behavior modes: free roaming, staying in place, and following the owner. You can switch between modes by right-clicking on the mob. No more leaving pets at home during battles and explorations - they can safely accompany you.
Combat Safety
Player attacks now pass through tamed mobs without harming them. This applies to both melee combat and arrows with other projectiles. If you need to intentionally attack a pet, simply hold Shift while attacking.
New Tamable Mobs
- Axolotls: Now fully tamable by feeding tropical fish
- Foxes: Breed wild foxes with sweet berries and wait for the baby to grow up
- Rabbits: Tamed with hay bales, scare away ravagers
- Frogs: Become loyal companions after feeding spider eyes
Pet Resurrection System
Craftable pet beds (available in 16 colors) allow you to set a respawn point. If a pet dies, it will return to its bed at dawn the next day.
Useful Items
- Wayward Lantern: Helps pets find their way home
- Feather on a Stick: Lures pets to move them to desired locations
- Rotten Apple: Turns a horse into a zombie horse
- Sinister Carrot: Turns a zombie horse into a skeleton horse or a rabbit into a killer rabbit
Animal Tamer Villager
Special villagers appear in villages, trading items for animal care. Their houses contain cages with various mobs.
Automation and Ownership Transfer
- Command Drum: Controls groups of pets using redstone
- Deed of Ownership: Allows transferring pets to other players
Pet Enchantment System
Collar tags can be enchanted in an anvil or enchanting table, providing pets with unique abilities:

Defensive Abilities:
- Poison Resistance

Curses:
- Curse of Afterlife
- Curse of Infamy

- Curse of Immaturity
Most enchantments are incompatible with each other and have varying rarity levels.
Compatibility with Other Mods
The command system works only with vanilla mobs, but pet beds and enchantments are compatible with tamable mobs from other modifications. Mobs from Alex's Mobs spawn in village tamer cages.

Technical Features
All mod functions are configurable through configuration files. For optimal compatibility with mobs from other mods, it's recommended that their classes inherit from TameableAnimal.
