Dimensional Threads Reforked

This mod significantly improves Minecraft performance when working with multiple dimensions by distributing their processing across separate threads. The mod works on both client and server, and it doesn't need to be installed on both sides simultaneously.

About the Project

This version represents an unofficial rework of the DimensionalThreading-Reforged project, which in turn is an adaptation of the original DimensionalThreading mod by WearBlackAllDay.

Game Rules

The mod adds two new commands for configuration:

• /gamerule dimthread_active <true/false> — enables or disables the mod's functionality
• /gamerule dimthread_thread_count <count> — sets the number of threads used

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the mod affect standard game behavior?

Dimensional Threads Reforked completely preserves the original Minecraft mechanics. No deviations from Mojang's standard server behavior have been discovered so far.

Can dimensions become desynchronized?

No, this is excluded. The mod always synchronizes the work of all dimensions, setting the overall frame processing time equal to the indicator of the slowest dimension.

Are more than three dimensions supported?

Yes, but this will require appropriate configuration of the game rule.

Will the server speed up when assigning more than three threads?

No, since each thread can only process one dimension.

What happens if there are fewer CPU threads than dimensions?

The game won't crash, but performance will significantly decrease. It's recommended to have at least one more thread than the number of dimensions.

What about compatibility with other mods?

Compatibility with JellySquid's optimization mods and Carpet is guaranteed. Compatibility with other mods cannot be guaranteed since not all developers write thread-safe code.

Which Minecraft versions are supported?

Versions available for 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2 and 1.20.1. Other versions are not supported.
