DePhoegons' Chocobos - Companion Birds for Your Adventure
The DePhoegons' Chocobos mod adds colorful chocobos to Minecraft - riding birds that will become your reliable travel companions. This is a completely independent version created based on early development and featuring its own approach to implementing these creatures.
Compatibility and Features
The mod is available for Minecraft versions 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.19.3, as well as 1.20 and 1.20.1 (with Patchouli limitations). It's important to note that this is a separate development branch, not connected to 'ChocoCraft 4', which may cause some inconsistencies when used together.
Key Capabilities
Chocobos are not just decorative creatures. They can participate in combat, becoming stronger through breeding. You'll encounter chocobos of different sizes that can be saddled and used for traveling around the world.
Color Palette
Chocobos, chicobos, and their special armor have color schemes corresponding to various game blocks:
- Lapis lazuli and emerald
- Birch and redstone
- Crimson stem and gold
- Yellow and purple coral
- Coal and hanging flower (pink)
Taming and Usage Mechanics
All color variations of chocobos spawn naturally depending on the biome. You can name them using name tags or by renaming chocobo eggs. In multiplayer, the mod works correctly, although when riding in first-person view, your bird is not displayed for you (but visible to other players).
Management and Statistics
To track your chocobo's characteristics, use the command /DelChoco Chocobo RiddenChocoboStats, which will show:
- Health and armor
- Movement speed and maximum stamina
- Attack damage
While riding, you can also see the bird's health, assess its speed, and determine gender by the collar (after taming).
