DefaultSettings Fabric/Quilt

Say goodbye to losing personal settings when updating modpacks! This client mod enables the creation and use of mod collections with preconfigured settings, server lists, and even custom keybindings without overwriting players' local configurations with each update.

How does the mod work?

DefaultSettings introduces the /defaultsettings command (abbreviated as /ds), which becomes an essential tool for modpack creators. During standard pack updates, all user local settings (graphics preferences, Optifine configurations, audio settings, and much more) can be lost. Our mod solves this issue by preserving user configurations even after updates.

For proper functionality, it's crucial NOT to include files like options.txt or servers.dat when exporting your modpack. Instead, use the /defaultsettings save command before final assembly. It automatically processes key configuration files: control settings, game options, Optifine parameters, resource pack order, and server lists.

Simple Installation

Installation is extremely straightforward: simply place the mod's JAR file in the "mods" folder of your FabricMC installation.

Privacy Policy

We do not collect any user data! The mod only uses standard Minecraft logs for error recording, without transmitting confidential information.

Modpack Usage

Free use and distribution of the mod in private and public mod collections is permitted.
