DefaultSettings
This client mod solves a common problem - the loss of personal settings when updating modpacks. Now your individual configurations, server bookmarks, and key assignments will remain untouched even after installing new versions of the build.
Main Features
DefaultSettings allows you to create and use modpacks with preset parameters that won't overwrite the player's local settings. This is especially convenient for those who regularly update their builds or participate in multiple projects simultaneously.
Installation
The installation process is extremely simple: just place the mod file in the "mods" folder for Minecraft versions 1.6 and above. For older releases (1.4+), use the "coremods" directory.
Mod Management
Graphical Interface
In versions up to 1.16.5, a visual interface is available that opens with the F7 + G key combination. You can also use the "Config" button in the Forge mod list (for versions 1.7.10+).
Command Line
Starting from Minecraft 1.17, developers completely redesigned the rendering system, which led to the removal of the graphical interface. Instead, an expanded command system is now used:
/defaultsettings— main management command/switchprofile— profile switching (only for versions 1.16.5 and below)
Important Information
The update from Forge 1.19.2 to 1.19.3 contains critical changes affecting many mods. Separate files have been uploaded for each version - make sure you're using the correct mod version.
For Modpack Creators
Developers can freely include DefaultSettings in their public and private builds. The mod doesn't collect any user data - only standard error information through Minecraft's system logs.
