Custom Sheep Breeding Mod
This modification completely transforms the wool coloring mechanics for sheep in Minecraft. Each individual animal now has an innate color that is determined at birth or upon first mod installation.
The core feature: a sheep's base color can no longer be permanently altered. Dye usage still functions normally, but after shearing, the wool immediately resets back to its natural shade.
Server Configuration
The mod offers extensive customization options:
- Enable or disable innate color system
- Set initial color distribution for spawning sheep with adjustable probabilities
- Assign color variants to specific biomes using tags
- Control chances for offspring to inherit colors from parents
- Configure probability of blended coloration from both parents
- Adjust random color appearance chances with customizable color distribution
With default settings, gameplay becomes an engaging quest where finding all 16 color variations turns into an exciting adventure. You'll need to hunt for rare specimens in the wild, breed appropriate color pairs, and rely on some luck.
The configuration includes values that simulate vanilla sheep behavior. Note that not all colors can be permanently acquired using these default settings.

This mod was inspired by the Hardcore Sheep feature from the legendary Better Than Wolves modification.
