Custom Mini Games

Dependencies

This mod requires the 1wholibs library to function!

Overview

This Minecraft Forge mod adds several customizable mini-games that can be started using commands. Currently available game modes include: free-for-all/team deathmatch, a simple game with buy-attack phases, and a flag capture mode.

The development was focused on multiplayer servers. For example, players can form teams and equip their best gear, then start a team deathmatch mini-game. The mod automatically switches characters who have lost all their lives to spectator mode.

Also included are a custom kit system and shop. Server developers can add their own kits and shops using datapacks.

The mod is designed so that other modification developers can create their own mini-games using the provided framework. Complete documentation on this topic will be available when the mod becomes stable.

Currently the mod is in beta version and contains many bugs. It's recommended to enable immediate respawn!

Usage Guide

The basic sequence of actions for a mini-game is as follows:

  1. Create a new mini-game instance using the command /minigame create_new

  2. Add players/teams to this game instance with the command /minigame setup add_player/add_team

  3. Configure the game instance using the setup command. All available parameters can be viewed in the command suggestions /minigame setup . These settings are saved in the world.

  4. Start the mini-game with the command /minigame setup start. If the game doesn't start, read the error message. Possibly some parameter wasn't configured.

  5. The game can be reset at any time using the command /minigame reset confirm_reset. It should be noted that reset does not cancel the settings made in steps 2 and 3. Mainly used for re-running the same game configuration.

  6. If you want to completely remove this game configuration from the world, use the command /minigame remove confirm_remove

More detailed information about all the different settings will be provided later. But most of them are quite self-explanatory.

Players without operator privileges can use the /kit and /shop commands to select kits and open shops.
