Copper Rails

Want to make minecarts more effective for traveling between your bases or friends' bases? This mod adds new types of rails: copper rails and crossings.

Important: Experimental Features

Snapshot 24w33a introduced experimental improvements for minecarts. This doesn't make CopperRails useless since different speeds for each oxidation level remain a useful feature. I plan to adapt the mod for compatibility with the new system. For now, do not use this mod with experimental features enabled, as it will NOT work (and could break your game).

Copper Rails

Copper rails are more powerful than regular powered gold rails, but their speed decreases as they oxidize! You can use this feature to brake minecarts or move them slowly.

• Normal (unoxidized) copper rails are twice as fast as standard powered rails, making them slightly faster than the fastest horse in the game.
• Copper rails can be waxed using the same methods (application or crafting) as standard oxidizable blocks.

Rail Crossings

In the standard game, you can turn rails at three-way intersections using redstone, but this is impossible at four-way intersections. This mod solves this problem by adding a crossing block! At the crossing, minecarts can only move straight, but the rail direction can be changed using redstone.

• Choose the default orientation when placing. Activate the crossing through its top or bottom (all edges should be occupied by rails). If the crossing changes position due to adjacent rails, simply reinstall it.
• Crossings cannot have an ascending shape (this can be done with a debug stick, but such behavior is not supported).

3D Rails

The mod includes a built-in resource pack that displays rails in 3D, similar to VanillaTweaks.

Other Changes

• Maximum speed on rails (without power) is now equal to the speed of normal copper rails (instead of standard powered rail speed).
• Maximum speed is limited when moving upward.
