Compact Crafting

Crafting has become more compact.

The Compact Crafting mod is inspired by the miniaturization crafting mechanics from the Compact Machines mod. This is a completely updated version with improved recipe loading, datapack support, modern client-side features, and a redesigned codebase. The main goal of the mod is to simplify the use of crafting mechanics, making the process convenient for both regular players and mod developers.

Feature: Layer-by-layer view in JEI

The JEI interface has been completely redesigned to display recipes in an expanded view (for quick viewing of the recipe center) or, if you need to understand in detail, you can view recipes layer by layer! Special thanks to Elucent for working on the control element sprites for this feature.

Feature: Recipe layers

Previously in Compact Machines 3, the crafting mechanism required recipe creators to define layers extremely precisely. Since this meant significantly more work for the designer instead of allowing the mod to "figure it out" on its own, custom recipes felt like a secondary element. In Compact Crafting, this system has been redesigned for more convenient layer definition.

Usage in modpacks

All mods in the Compact series can be freely used in modpacks.

Bug reports and issues

Compact Crafting is a complete overhaul of the miniaturization crafting logic, so some issues may occur. Reports about them can be submitted in the public repository on GitHub in the issue tracking section.
