Chisel Facades
Chisel Facades is a small compatibility mod that bridges Chisel and BuildCraft. It enables the use of decorative blocks from Chisel as facades for pipes and other BuildCraft elements, opening up new possibilities for aesthetically pleasing technical constructions.
Compatible Versions
The mod is available in five different variants, each designed for specific versions of Minecraft and Chisel:
- asie version for Minecraft 1.6.4 — adds 564 Chisel block variations as facades
- Delta534 version for Minecraft 1.6.4 — provides 578 Chisel block variations as facades
- Pokefenn version for Minecraft 1.7.10 — includes 630 Chisel block variations for use as facades
- TheCricket26 version for Minecraft 1.7.10 — adds 32 Chisel block variations (previously 768 in version 2.9-cricket for BuildCraft < 6.3)
- Chisel Team version for Minecraft 1.7.10 — also provides 32 Chisel block variations as facades
Before installation, ensure you select the version compatible with your Minecraft and Chisel versions.
Features with BuildCraft 6.3+
Due to changes in BuildCraft's code, starting from version 6.3, most Chisel blocks are automatically added as facades by BuildCraft itself. Chisel Facades now only registers blocks with non-standard boundaries — specifically, marble slabs and marble pillar slabs (only with old pillars disabled in Chisel's configuration). This rule also applies to the Chisel Team version.
Known Limitations for Minecraft 1.6.4
Facades of blocks with dynamic graphics (such as connected textures of pillars and snakestone, lava stone animations, or obsidian snakestone particle effects) display only with static textures. Snakestone facades are always oriented with the head facing south.
Facades are not created for glass panes, non-block carpets, and stairs. However, facades are created for iron bars since they lack a standard block form.
asie Version Specifics
Facades are only created for old-style marble pillar blocks and new-style marble pillar slabs. Old slabs and new blocks display incorrectly as facades.
Delta534 Version Specifics
Facades are only created for new-style marble pillar slabs. Unlike the asie version, both old and new marble pillar blocks work without issues. Grass facades display as gray instead of green. Snakestone head facades may be incorrectly rotated when a pipe is connected to that face of the block.
Known Limitations for Minecraft 1.7.10
Crafting facades from Chisel blocks doesn't work when using BuildCraft versions 6.1.X or 6.2.0 — version 6.2.1 or later is recommended.
Limitations regarding dynamic graphics and snakestone remain, as well as marble pillar specifics. Facades are not created for glass panes, non-block carpets, and stairs, but are created for iron bars and paper walls since they lack a standard block form.
Facades are not created for ice and ice pillars due to BuildCraft's handling of render type 0.
Cricket Version
Facades are not created for presents because they display incorrectly.
Chisel Team Version
Facades are also not created for presents due to display issues.
Dependencies
Chisel Facades requires Minecraft Forge, Chisel, and BuildCraft. Using the latest available versions of each mod for your Minecraft version is recommended.
