Chinese Character Input System
Chinese IME is a practical addition to Minecraft that enables easy input of Chinese characters using the Pinyin system, while also supporting Cantonese transcription Jyutping for users from Cantonese-speaking regions. The modification works with both simplified and traditional forms of Chinese characters.
For proper functionality, Fabric API installation is required. Also compatible with Forge and NeoForge platforms when Sinytra Connector and Forgified Fabric API are present.
Key Features
- Pinyin and Jyutping: Input text using the Pinyin or Jyutping system, and the mod will suggest appropriate Chinese characters based on entered letter combinations.
- Tone Support: Adding numeric tone notation at the end of transcription allows obtaining characters with specific tone values.
- Mode Switching: Easy switching between simplified, traditional character modes and Cantonese dialect through a button in the top right corner of the chat window.
How to Use
- Start typing Pinyin or Jyutping in chat — the mod will instantly display a list of suitable Chinese characters. To obtain tone-specific variants, add the corresponding digit at the end (for example,
wo3for the character "我"). - Use up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list of suggested characters, and Enter to confirm selection.
- Alternative selection method — scrolling through the list with mouse wheel or directly clicking on the desired character in the proposed list.
- Quick switching between simplified, traditional Chinese and Cantonese variants is done by pressing the button in the top right corner of the chat interface.
