Charset Storage - Chests

Charset Storage Chests is a module for Charset that adds various chests to the game. (Details about why this is a separate project can be found in the developer's blog.)

Improvements compared to regular chests

Charset chests offer numerous advantages over standard options:

• They can be crafted from any wood in the game! Yes, literally any - vanilla, Forestry, Biomes'o'Plenty, as well as mods you might not have even heard of. Just like with barrels! (Recolored textures also work with any resource packs - Faithful, Unity, and others!)

• They can be placed next to each other or carefully connected using sneak-clicking - exactly how you want!

• They can be disconnected and reconnected using Wrenches!

• The internal code is probably significantly cleaner.

• Minor improvements, such as slower opening animation for larger chests and deeper opening/closing sounds compared to regular chests.

• Unlike existing "alternative chests" mods, this one maintains full compatibility with other mods' crafting recipes - even those where the chest isn't listed in the ore dictionary!

In all other aspects, they behave exactly like regular chests. (Improved trapped chests are planned - stay tuned!)

Important notes

• This means you need eight units of the same wood type to craft a chest. This may cause issues in certain cases when using automated storage systems.

• Loot chests and village chests still generate in the classic vanilla style. This may be changed in the future.

• The texture generation algorithm for chests is still under development, so the specific coloring may change somewhat.

This version of the mod requires CharsetLib installation!
