Cartography

Cartography is a specialized mapping mod designed specifically to work with TerraFirmaCraft. Built upon Blaze Map technologies, this mod expands cartography capabilities by adding additional map types for convenient navigation in the TFC world, including display of rock types, temperature indicators, and precipitation levels.

Key Features

Cartography automatically records your discoveries such as ore deposits and agricultural crops, adding them to the map with a simple click. This eliminates the need to manually create waypoints for locations you plan to visit in the future. The world map screen features a search function that allows filtering discovered objects for quick resource finding.

Compatibility and Support

The mod actively supports TFC versions 1.18.2 and 1.20.1. For similar functionality in version 1.12.2, it's recommended to check out the MineralTracker mod by the same developer LordFokas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Compatibility with Other Mapping Mods

Cartography is created as an extension for Blaze Map and uses its toolkit for map operations, so the presence of Blaze Map is a mandatory requirement for the mod's functionality.

Nevertheless, Cartography and Blaze Map can work without issues in the same world with other mapping mods! If you prefer using a minimap from another mod, you can disable the built-in Blaze Map minimap using the command /blazemap minimap off.

Issues with Button Display on the Map

Known incompatibility issue with the FancyMenu mod. Buttons continue to function but don't change to yellow when activated when FancyMenu is present. This issue cannot be fixed from the Cartography side.

Missing Discovered Objects

Discovered ore deposits are displayed only on the geology layer, while agricultural crop and fruit tree findings are displayed only on the ecosystems layer. Make sure the correct map layer is selected. If problems persist, please report this to us!

Other Malfunctions

Be sure to report any issues! You can create an issue on GitHub or chat with us directly on Discord. We cannot fix what we don't know about!

When reporting a problem, be sure to include a mod list with versions. If you have a crash report or latest.log file to attach, this information will be included in it. Also, if you enable debug mode with the command /blazemap debug on and take a screenshot, this will significantly simplify our problem diagnosis process.

NeoForge Support

Although we don't release special builds for NeoForge, version 1.20 of our mod is built on the same Forge version as TFC, which was released before the Forge/NeoForge split. While we cannot guarantee the build's functionality in NeoForge, theoretically there should be no problems.
