Bottled Air (Legacy Fabric)

Bottled Air (Legacy Fabric)

This mod offers an alternative way to extend underwater stay. Now you can use empty glass bottles to replenish your air supply while swimming.

How it works

When you're underwater and see the air bubble bar, simply right-click with an empty glass bottle in hand. By default, this action refills half of your air supply, allowing you to explore the underwater world longer.

Preventing inventory clutter

To avoid accumulating water bottles in your inventory, hold one of the fire-type items in your offhand:

  • Campfires
  • Fire charges
  • Lava buckets
  • Magma blocks

With such an item present, the created water bottle evaporates, and you get back an empty glass bottle. By default, there's a 50% chance that the bottle will break in this process.

Configuration

disableWaterConsumptionUnderwater (default = true): If enabled, players cannot drink water bottles underwater to prevent obtaining unlimited oxygen.

holdFireTypeItemInOffhandToPreventWaterBottleCreation (default = true): Whether to prevent water bottle creation (evaporation) when holding a fire-type block in the offhand.

chanceGlassBottleBreaksWithFireTypeInOffhand (default = 0.5, min 0, max 1.0): The chance a glass bottle breaks when the item in the offhand evaporates the water, returning an empty (air) bottle.

amountOfAirInBottles (default = 150, min 0, max 1000): The amount of air contained in an empty bottle. In vanilla Minecraft, the maximum air supply is 300.

Demonstration

Diving and using empty bottles to extend underwater swimming:

The air bubble bar is filled by half with each glass bottle. There's a 50% chance it breaks during the evaporation process:

Of course, you don't have to hold a fire-type block:

Requires the Collective (Fabric) library mod and Fabric API.
