Bird Nests - Realistic Finds in Minecraft

The Birds Nests mod offers an interesting way to obtain random rewards during regular tree chopping. This is a realistic alternative to random bonuses that organically fits into the game world.

While collecting leaves from trees, bird nests may drop with a certain probability. Simply right-click the nest to open its contents. Inside you'll find various items that birds might collect in nature: eggs, feathers, shiny things found on the ground, and various foods.

Customizability and Compatibility

The mod has a high degree of customization. Nests can drop from any leaves - both standard and those added by other mods. It's especially convenient that nests now also drop when leaves naturally decay, although with a lower probability (80% of manual collection), which can be changed in settings or completely disabled.

For Minecraft versions below 1.12, compatibility with other popular mods is provided. Nests can contain grains from Simple Corn and seeds with silkworms from Ex Nihilo Omnia.

Customizing Dropped Items (1.12+)

You can completely customize the list of items that drop from nests. To do this, use Craft Tweaker to edit the loot table or follow the instructions:

1. Download the helper archive from additional files for version 1.12 or create the files yourself
2. Create a new folder or extract the archive to the "data" folder in the world for which you want to change the dropped items (e.g.: saves\New_World\data...)
3. Create the "data\loot_tables\birdsnests" directories and copy the "nest_loot.json" file from GitHub or create a new one
4. Edit the "nest_loot.json" file in the "data\loot_tables\birdsnests" folder, adding your items

Important: This table replaces the standard one, so if you want to keep the standard items, leave them in the file and add yours at the end. Settings work separately for each world.
