Biome ID Extender
IMPORTANT NOTE
This modification is currently under active development, so it's not recommended to use it on worlds that you truly care about.
Worlds created with Biome ID Extender will become incompatible and will not function properly if this mod is removed.
When displaying information in F3, some biomes may show incorrect names - this is a known issue. It does not affect world generation, the problem is only related to desynchronization between client and server.
About the Mod
Biome ID Extender is a modification for Minecraft Forge version 1.7.10 that increases the biome identifier limit, allowing you to add more than 256 different biomes to the game.
Compatible Mods:
Mods that work successfully with Biome ID Extender:
- Highlands
- ExtraBiomesXL
- Ridiculous World
- Thaumcraft
- ChromatiCraft
- Biomes O' Plenty
Mods with Compatibility Issues:
- Alternate Terrain Generation (mostly working, minor issues with glass blocks generating in the sky)
- Realistic Terrain Generation (mostly working, similar problems to ATG, as well as "Hell" biome generating in the overworld)
- NEID: has overlapping changes with this mod that may cause crashes, recommended to use EndlessIDs instead
- Optifine: causes crashes
- Fastcraft: causes crashes
- Other mods that didn't account for the limit increase beyond 255
Unsupported Mods:
Enhanced Biomes: uses complex world generation mechanics that go beyond simple biome limit extension
RWG (Realistic World Gen, not to be confused with Realistic Terrain Generation): incompatible with most biome mods, so there's no need to extend its identifier limit
Mods that add dimensions with custom biomes: if IDs above 127 are used, these biomes appear in the overworld
