Better Smithing
The Better Smithing mod fundamentally transforms the blacksmithing process, making work with the smithing table more realistic and engaging.
How the Enhanced Blacksmithing System Works
To start working with the modified smithing table, you'll need:
- Open the table while holding a hammer
- Place the items required for the recipe
- Some materials need to be heated to specific temperatures - use the special forge for this
- Click on the highlighted area to begin the forging process
- Collect the finished item
Using the Blacksmith's Forge
The blacksmith's forge allows heating metal items to the required temperature:
- Load one of the fuel types: coal, netherrack, or soul soil
- Ignite the fuel using flint and steel
- Place the item to be heated
- Wait for it to reach the desired temperature (be careful - overheating is possible!)
To cool heated items, you can throw them in water or use a cauldron with water.
