Better minecart rotation (Forge)
This modification changes camera behavior while riding in minecarts, making the camera automatically rotate along with the direction of movement to provide more intuitive control.
Compatibility and System Requirements
I highly recommend trying the Fabric version, which offers better performance and optimization compared to Forge.
Requirements by version:
- Minecraft 1.12: standalone operation, no additional mods required
- Minecraft 1.15: requires installation of MixinBootstrap and Cloth Config for Forge
- Minecraft 1.16 and above: requires only Cloth Config for Forge
For versions 1.15+, additional installation of GameMenuModOption is recommended for better integration with settings menus.
Important: This mod is client-side only! Attempting to install it on a server will cause system crashes.
How to Use
The main function is activated with the F7 key - this option allows you to toggle the mod on and off at any time. The key can be reassigned in the game's control settings.
Operating Modes
Smooth Mode Implements gradual, smooth camera rotation without sudden jerks, creating a comfortable control experience.
Smart Mode Due to the unreliability of the standard minecart rotation tracking system, this feature calculates direction based on movement speed. The algorithm automatically detects moments of collision with obstacles, entities, or sharp turns. Threshold sensitivity settings are available for fine-tuning according to your playstyle.
Roller Coaster Mode Specialized mode where the camera always faces forward along the direction of travel. Perfect for building complex tracks and amusement park attractions, but not recommended for regular use in mines and transportation systems.
