Beta Recipes

The Beta Recipes modification restores crafting and smelting recipes from Minecraft beta version 1.7.3 for modern editions of the game! All recipes are returned exactly as they were in the original, and new modern recipes are disabled, making the process of creating items and smelting identical to the beta version.
Key recipe changes from the beta version
- All modern recipes are disabled
- Spruce, birch, and oak logs can be turned into 4 oak planks
- No experience from smelting
- Dyed wool recipes only accept white wool and dye
- Blue wool is created using lapis lazuli
- Brown wool is created using cocoa beans
- Black wool is created using ink sacs
- Slab recipes yield 3 slabs instead of 6
- Smooth stone slabs are made from regular stone
- Stone buttons are crafted from 2 vertical stone blocks
- Oak slab recipe is changed to yield petrified oak slabs
- Ladder recipe yields 2 instead of 3
- Fences are made from 6 sticks and yield 2 instead of 3
- Golden apples are crafted from gold blocks instead of ingots
- Sign recipe yields 1 instead of 3
- Wood door recipe yields 1 instead of 3
- Books are crafted from 3 paper arranged vertically
- Flint and steel, mushroom stews, chest minecarts and furnace minecarts have specific crafting shapes
- Purple dye is created from lapis lazuli and red dye
- Light gray dye is created from either 1 ink sac and 2 bone meal or 1 gray dye and 1 bone meal
- Gray dye is created from ink sac and bone meal
- Pink dye is created from red dye and bone meal
- Lime dye is created from green dye and bone meal
- Light blue dye is created from lapis lazuli and bone meal
- Magenta dye is created from either 1 lapis, 1 red dye, 1 pink dye or 1 lapis, 2 red dye, 1 bone meal or 1 purple dye and 1 pink dye
Base and No-Categories versions
Beta Recipes is divided into two different versions: "base" and "no categories". Both versions contain the same recipes, however the "no categories" version, as the name implies, has no categories for recipes, meaning they will not appear in the recipe book!
