Vortex: Mod Usage Analyzer for NeoForge Servers
Vortex is a lightweight server-side mod for NeoForge, specifically designed for server administrators. It provides detailed information about how players actually use content from installed mods.
Key Features
Tracking Modified Content Usage: The system discreetly records all player interactions with elements from other mods, including:
- Using mod blocks (right-click)
- Applying mod items (right-click)
- Creating recipes that result in mod items
- Dealing damage to mod creatures
Ignoring Standard Content: The program automatically excludes from tracking all interactions with basic Minecraft elements, focusing exclusively on added mods.
In-Game Reports: Administrators can use simple commands /vortex or /vx to get instant summaries of the most popular and rarely used mods across all tracked categories directly in the game chat.
Dataview Web Panel: A convenient web panel allows administrators to view collected data in a clear and sortable format.
CSV Export: When the server stops, Vortex automatically creates a detailed CSV file (for example, vortex_mod_usage_data_MM-DD-YYYY.HH-mm.csv) in your server's config/vortex/ folder. This file contains raw, structured data for deep analysis in spreadsheet editors or visualization tools.
