Animania Farm

Animania Farm is an additional module that significantly expands the farming experience in Minecraft by adding a variety of farm animal breeds with unique characteristics and behaviors.

Important Note: This module requires installation of the main Animania Base mod.

Animal Variety

Cows

The module features five cow breeds, each with its own characteristics:

• Angus (beef) - found in jungles, mesas, and swamps
• Hereford (beef) - inhabits mountain biomes
• Texas Longhorn (beef) - populates savannas
• Holstein (dairy) - found in forests
• Friesian (dairy) - replaces standard cows, found in plains
• Mooshrooms - found on mushroom islands

Cow Behavior:

• Feed on grass, flowers, and some vegetables
• Drink water from water sources and troughs
• Bulls may attack when provoked
• Give milk only after giving birth
• Spawn in family groups

Pigs

Six pig breeds with various characteristics:

• Duroc - jungles
• Hampshire - mountains
• Large Black - swamps and dense forests
• Large White - forests
• Old Spot - forests
• Yorkshire - replaces standard pigs, plains

Pig Features:

• Love rolling in mud and swimming
• Adult pigs can be ridden using a carrot on a stick
• Help find truffles in forests
• Spawn in family groups

Chickens

Five chicken breeds with different characteristics:

• Leghorn (fast egg laying) - replaces standard chickens, plains
• Orpington (best meat) - jungles and swamps
• Plymouth Rock - mountains
• Rhode Island Red - forests
• Wyandotte (brown eggs) - forests

Chicken Behavior:

• Peck the ground searching for food
• Roosters crow at dawn
• Lay eggs in nests
• Feed on seeds

Horses

Six draft horse colors for work:

• Found in plains, savannas, and mesas
• Can pull carts
• Require saddles for riding
• Use riding crops for speed boost

Six sheep breeds with unique wool:

• Dorper - savannas and plains
• Dorset - hills and plains
• Friesian - plains
• Merino - plains and dry biomes
• Jacob - forests
• Suffolk - mesas and savannas

Sheep Features:

• Provide milk for sheep cheese production
• Rams occasionally spar with each other
• Can be sheared for wool

Goats

Eight goat breeds with various characteristics:

• Alpine - mountains and hills
• Angora - plains
• Fainting - plains
• Kiko - mountains and hills
• Kinder - savannas and mesas
• Nigerian Dwarf - deserts
• Pygmy - savannas and mesas

Goat Behavior:

• Angora goats can be sheared
• Fainting goats faint when startled
• Provide milk for goat cheese
• Bucks occasionally spar

Carts and Transportation

Carts provide a convenient way to transport animals and items:

• Placed with right-click
• Can be pulled by players or horses
• Animals can be placed in carts using leads
• Adding chests allows item transportation
• Players can ride in carts
• Pigs can also pull carts

Animal Breeding

Mammals

• For breeding, place a female near a male
• Animals must be well-fed and close to each other
• Pregnancy lasts about one game day
• Result is randomly determined from parents
• Females give milk only after giving birth

Birds

• Chickens lay eggs in nests
• With a rooster present, eggs may hatch into chicks
• Up to 3 eggs can be in one nest

• Made from cow, sheep, and goat milk
• Requires cheese mold
• Different cheese types have various properties
• Maturation takes specific time
