World History
During the era when the Overworld and Nether were born, this dimension existed as a void between worlds. Over time, energy from the Overworld seeped through a rift, allowing life to spread. A civilization inhabiting these lands under the guidance of a Great Druid attempted to harness Nether forces, but dark energies spiraled out of control, causing widespread corruption. The inhabitants turned into Wights, and the Great Druid himself became the Prime Wight, doomed to rule an empire of decay. When a traveler found the path to this dimension, your story began...
Survival Mechanics
Polluted air slowly deteriorates any living creature. This world lacks day/night cycle, and items like clocks, maps, redstone, flint and steel, and compasses become useless. Food from other dimensions quickly spoils, turning into rotten food.
For creating fire, use an octine ingot with moss, cave moss, or thorns - it slowly ignites plants without consuming the ingot itself. This method is essential for starting an infuser. Regular torches don't work - sulfur torches are required instead. Tools from other worlds lose effectiveness, while local tools are subject to corrosion.
Accessing the Dimension
Entry to The Betweenlands opens through creating a portal tree. Detailed information about access methods is available on relevant resources.
Environment
The world is based on swamp theme with animated green sky dotted with mysterious stars. Occasionally, auroras appear - the last glimpses of joy in this dimension. The soil maintains a deathly green hue.
The dimension consists of various biomes: Swamplands, Patchy Islands, Coarse Islands, Sludge Plains, Deep Waters, and Marshes. Some biomes contain middle gem ores. Vegetation is dense and uncontrolled, hiding ruins of ancient civilizations and mysterious structures, including the Wight Fortress.
The underground world includes Lake Caverns where valonite ore and life crystal ore can be found. The main tree type is weedwood tree, though giant specimens also exist. Sap trees, rubber trees, and other species are also present.
The underground system contains various ores: sulfur, slimy bone, octine, syrmorite, valonite, and life crystal. Caves are often spacious, with underground flora and stalactites, accompanied by echoing cave ambiance.
