Amazing Chest
Tired of complex and inflexible item sorting systems? Want an easy way to keep your workshop organized so you can focus on other game aspects?
Amazing Chest is exactly what you need! This mod adds a new block to the world - the "Sorting Chest" that automatically pulls matching items from a connected hopper chain.
To set up sorting, simply place the items you want to be sorted into the Sorting Chest. Any matching items (and only those) will be routed to it through the hopper chain. It works similarly to the Tango Tek sorting system, but without the need to build it.
Key Features
- Simple item sorting setup
- Ability to reorganize the system at any time by simply moving items between chests
- Sorting of both stackable and unstackable items
- Ability to sort many different items into one chest
- Compatibility with Fabric
- Works without client installation (thanks to Polymer framework)

How to Use the Sorting Chest?
- Create a hopper chain as shown in the diagram
- Place in chests the items that should go into them
- Make sure there's a regular "overflow" chest in the chain for items that don't match any Sorting Chests

Video Review of the Sorting Chest in Action
How Exactly Does It Work?
- When a Sorting Chest is connected to a hopper chain, any items in the chain matching items in the chest are automatically routed to it
- The Sorting Chest never allows a hopper to push items that don't match those already in it
- If a hopper pulls items from a Sorting Chest, it never takes the last item of a given type, ensuring continued sorting
- The chest always keeps the last item of each type that is in the hopper
Important for Lithium Users!
If you use Lithium, Amazing Chest won't work until you set mixin.block.hopper=false in your lithium.properties file. This disables Lithium's hopper optimizations that are incompatible with Amazing Chest.
Notes
- A Forge port of Amazing Chest is not planned
