Alpha Recipes

Alpha Recipes is a companion project to Beta Recipes, dedicated to accurately restoring all crafting and smelting recipes from Minecraft Alpha version 1.1.2_01. All recipes have been returned to their original form, while modern equivalents are disabled, allowing for complete immersion in the alpha version atmosphere.
Main Recipe Changes
This mod implements the most notable recipe differences from the alpha version of Minecraft:
- All modern recipes are completely disabled
- Only oak logs can be used to create planks
- No experience is gained from smelting ore
- The only available slab type is smooth stone, crafted from cobblestone
- Smooth stone slab recipe yields 3 slabs instead of 6
- Stone buttons are crafted from two vertically placed stone blocks
- Ladder recipe yields 1 unit instead of 3
- Fences are crafted from 6 sticks and yield 2 units instead of 3
- Golden apples are crafted from gold blocks instead of ingots
- Sign recipe yields 1 sign instead of 3
- Wooden doors are crafted as 1 unit instead of 3
- Books are crafted from 3 sheets of paper arranged vertically
- Flint and steel, mushroom stews, chest minecarts, and furnace minecarts have specific crafting shapes
- Pressure plates require 3 stone/wooden blocks instead of 2
Compatibility and Recommendations
Alpha Recipes and the author's other works are public property - you can freely use them in your modpacks, edit, modify, and distribute them!
