AFK Display

AFK Display is a free open-source datapack for Minecraft version 1.21 and higher that displays "away from keyboard" status next to each player's nickname.

Main Features

The system automatically detects when a player becomes inactive and adds the [AFK] tag to their name in various game lists and interfaces. If a player remains completely inactive for a period between 2 minutes 30 seconds and 5 minutes, they are automatically added to the special AFK team, which results in the corresponding label appearing.

As soon as an inactive player resumes movement or any other activity, the system immediately removes them from the AFK team, and the label disappears automatically.

Important Information

It should be noted that this datapack does not provide commands like /afk for manually indicating status - the entire system works completely automatically based on tracking player activity.

Installation

For a New World

When creating a new world, go to the "Data Packs" menu, click "Open Pack Folder" and move the datapack ZIP file to the opened directory. Then transfer the datapack from the available list to the selected list, click "Done" and complete world creation.

Note: Do not leave the world creation menu until all actions are completed, otherwise the procedure will need to be repeated.

For an Existing World

In the singleplayer main menu, select the desired world, click "Edit" in the lower left corner, then "Open World Folder". Navigate to the datapacks folder and place the datapack ZIP file there. After reloading the world, the datapack will activate automatically.

Uninstallation

To remove the datapack, execute the command: /function afk_display:uninstall
