The Advanced Solar Panels modification is an extension for Industrial Craft 2 that adds several levels of improved solar panels with enhanced energy generation characteristics to the game.

System Requirements

To run the mod, IC2 version 2.8.74 or higher is required. Note that the stable version of IC2 is 2.8.73, so you will need the beta version.

Configuration Features

The mod offers two sets of crafting recipes: "Normal" and "Hard", which can be changed in the configuration file. All panel parameters are fully customizable via config.

Types of Solar Panels

Advanced Solar Panel

Basic improved model with solid characteristics:

• Generation: 8 EU during the day, 1 EU at night and during rain
• Internal storage: 32,000 EU
• Output power: 32 EU
• Charging slots: 4 devices simultaneously

Hybrid Solar Panel

More powerful version with improved efficiency:

• Generation: 64 EU during the day, 8 EU at night and during rain
• Internal storage: 100,000 EU
• Output power: 128 EU
• Charging slots: 4 devices simultaneously

Ultimate Hybrid Solar Panel

The result of years of research in quantum physics. Scientists discovered new properties of iridium in combination with sunnarium, which increased the efficiency of solar energy conversion by 8 times!

• Generation: 512 EU during the day, 64 EU at night and during rain
• Internal storage: 1,000,000 EU
• Output power: 512 EU
• Charging slots: 4 devices simultaneously

Quantum Solar Panel

The pinnacle of technological progress in solar energy. After many years of quantum matter research, scientists reached unprecedented heights and created the most perfect panel with a quantum core that improved energy generation in dark conditions by 4 times!

• Generation: 4096 EU during the day, 2048 EU at night and during rain
• Internal storage: 10,000,000 EU
• Output power: 8192 EU
• Charging slots: 4 devices simultaneously

Quantum Generator

Advanced quantum physics technology obtained from an alien civilization. This top-tier generator is created for map makers and server administrators who need an infinite customizable power source (it has no crafting recipe).

The generator is fully customizable! You can change the output energy and tier (for use with different cables) through the interface. For example: if you need to get 5120 EU and transmit through fiberglass cables that only accept 512 EU/t, set the generator output to 5120 EU/t and the tier to 3. Now the generator will emit 10 packets of 512 EU per tick.

Features:

• Full customization of output power and tier
• Ability to disable generation with a redstone signal
• Holding left Shift while clicking buttons multiplies values by 5

Solar Helmets

The mod adds special helmets with solar panels that can charge electrical items in the player's inventory or only armor (by default only armor, but can be changed in config).

• Advanced Solar Helmet - based on nano helmet (generation like advanced solar panel)
• Hybrid Solar Helmet - based on quantum helmet (generation like hybrid solar panel)
• Ultimate Solar Helmet - based on quantum helmet (generation like ultimate hybrid solar panel)

The helmets retain only 2 functions of the quantum helmet: underwater supply and HUD. Other abilities are unavailable as they are replaced by the solar panel.

Additional Features

The mod includes a bonus double slab recipe for greater construction convenience. Technically this is not a vanilla feature since version 1.8 doesn't have a slab form, so this is a nice addition from the developer.
