Additive Statuses
This mod introduces a significant change to how potions and status effects work in Minecraft.
How the Standard System Works
In vanilla game, when consuming a potion (for example, Strength for 8 minutes), the effect duration is set to the specified value, regardless of how many times you drink it. Even if you already have a similar effect active, it will simply refresh to the maximum possible duration.
What the Mod Changes
With Additive Statuses installed, potions begin to accumulate their duration with existing effects. Each new consumption adds time to the existing timer, allowing you to build up effect durations almost indefinitely.
Settings and Capabilities
Through the configuration file or using Mod Menu, you can adjust the following parameters:
Cycle Amplification
When this function is activated, once an effect's duration reaches the specified "maximum limit", it resets to the "starting duration", but the effect's amplification level increases by 1. This allows you to transform long-lasting weak effects into short but powerful ones.
You can disable this function for specific effects. By default, effects that aren't affected by amplification level (such as Night Vision) are already excluded from this mechanism.
Duration Limitation
When this option is enabled, the duration of all effects cannot exceed the specified "maximum limit". This is useful for game balance and preventing excessive effect accumulation.
