Additional Pipes for Buildcraft

Additional Pipes mod expands Buildcraft capabilities by adding a range of specialized pipes for creating complex automated systems. Many players remember this mod from Tekkit times - and it continues to develop!

Pipe Types

Additional Transport Pipe
This pipe works similarly to the clay pipe, adding items to inventory before passing them through the system. However, it only adds the item if it's already present in the target inventory, making it ideal for creating simple and cheap sorting systems.

Priority Insertion Pipe
When multiple devices need to be connected to one pipe, the clay pipe becomes inefficient. This pipe allows setting the order of filling connected inventories through the GUI, replacing an entire row of clay pipes.

Distribution Pipe
Buildcraft long lacked the ability to distribute items between different outputs in specific ratios. This pipe solves the problem - for example, you can configure sending two seeds back to the farm and one to storage.

Closed Pipe
Serves as an emergency solution for pipe systems. If an item has nowhere to go, it doesn't drop to the ground but goes into the pipe's internal 9-slot inventory. When the inventory fills up, items are destroyed like in a void pipe. The pipe's status can be monitored using gates.

Advanced Wood Pipe
Functionally similar to the emerald pipe but with limited capabilities. Allows creating whitelists and blacklists of extracted items. Although cheaper than the emerald pipe, some functions remain unavailable.

Teleport Pipes
The most famous pipes of the mod, allowing transportation of items, fluids, energy, and signals over huge distances and even between dimensions. Each pipe is assigned a frequency, with configurable public or private access.

In Minecraft 1.7.x and 1.8.x versions, teleport pipes of the same type and frequency synchronize wire signals, allowing, for example, remote control of a power plant in another dimension.

Throughput:

  • Fluid Teleport Pipe: 220 MB/tick
  • Power Teleport Pipe: 2560 RF/tick (standard 10% loss)

Water Pump Pipe
Simple and efficient water pumping solution with minimal performance impact. Instead of creating a complex system with a pump and redstone engines, just install one such pipe over a water block. Standard performance - 90 MB of water per tick.

Switch Pipe
Allows disconnecting sections of the pipe system when receiving a redstone signal. Available variants for items, fluids, and energy.

Throughput:

  • Switch Fluid Pipe: 40 MB/tick
  • Switch Kinesis Pipe: 1280 RF/tick

Obsidian Fluid Pipe
Sucks fluids from containers - just throw a canister or bucket nearby, and the pipe will take the fluid, returning the empty item. When powered by a redstone engine, it also collects items from the ground. Performance - 100 MB of fluid per tick.

Note: This pipe will be removed in Minecraft 1.12.x versions!

Gravity Feed Pipe
Extracts items from inventories without consuming energy, using gravity power. Can only take items from the bottom of inventories. Designed to reduce load in large factories.

Jeweled Pipe
Improved version of the diamond pipe with 27 slots per side for creating complex sorting systems. Each side has metadata and NBT matching settings, plus the ability to accept unsorted items.

New Features in Version 6.0

The transition to Buildcraft 8.x required extensive code rework, allowing improvement of many functions:

  • Distribution and priority pipes now work at the individual item level, not stack level
  • Buildcraft guidebook support (currently only for teleport pipes)
  • Complete interface localization

Minecraft 1.7.10 and 1.8.9 versions are stable and tested, while the 1.12.x version is still under development.
