Guard Villagers (Fabric/Quilt)
Tired of your village constantly dying because of a lazy iron golem? Fed up with defending the settlement from all threats alone?
Guard Villagers mod offers an elegant solution — special guards who will take over village protection, along with changes to villager behavior.
Village Guards
Each village now spawns up to six guards armed with iron swords or crossbows. These fighters are ready to confront any threat, potentially including the player themselves. To create new guards, simply crouch and right-click on an unemployed villager or nitwit while holding a sword or crossbow.

If you have the Hero of the Village status, guards gain the ability to follow you and fight on your side after pressing the corresponding button. Right-clicking a guard opens their inventory where you can equip them with armor, change weapons, or add a shield or food to their offhand. Guards with shields actively block attacks, though archers lose the ability to knock back enemies while blocking. With food or potions, guards will restore health in critical situations.
The patrol function allows setting routes for guards: melee warriors patrol around the point, while archers take positions for sniper shooting.
Behavior Changes

- Witches now attack village residents (active by default)
- During raids, pillagers destroy all encountered animals (disabled by default)
- Villagers and pillagers fear polar bears (active by default)

Clerics now heal wounded guards, villagers, and players with Hero of the Village status using regeneration potions. Blacksmiths restore iron golems' health using iron ingots.
